About Hisense
Making quality and affordable home appliances accessible to the everyday Ghanaian
Established with the goal of bringing affordable and quality home appliances to the everyday Ghanaian, Sun Electronics, a limited liability company and the sole representative of the Hisense brand in Ghana has been in operation since June 2011 and was registered in January 2010.
With one branch in East Legon known as ‘Hisense Place’, Sun Electronics started operations by importing from Hisense South Africa and Hisense China. However, the company decided to concentrate on supplies from Hisense China, subsequently.
Sun Electronics was initially set up as a wholesale company, but the nature of the credit environment led management to make a decision to concentrate on a retail / cash sales business from January 2012. To make inroads into the home appliance market we started with the promo ‘bring your old TV’s for a digital TV’ at a discount which ran intermittently for about two years to afford Ghanaians an experience with the brand. The company operates mainly as a retailer and as a wholesaler selectively to a few key customers in Ghana. Sun Electronics also partners with key businesses to sell directly to their staff.
24 retail outlets
The company currently operates over 24 retail outlets branded with the trading name “Hisense” within Greater Accra Region (East Legon, Accra Central Market, Lapaz, Kasoa, Junction Mall, Baatsona Spintex Road, North Industrial Area, Achimota Mall, West Hills Mall, Tema Community 1 and 25, Weija-Broadcasting and Dansoman).
Along with showrooms in regional areas, including Tarkwa, Takoradi, Kumasi (Kumasi City Mall, Tafo and Adum 1 & 2), Sunyani, Tamale, Hohoe, Obuasi and Mankessim. Hohoe, Obuasi, Mankessim, Techiman, and Koforidua. Developments are underway for the completion of new shops in East Legon and Haatso.
